Every year, couples planning a December wedding come to us in October — sometimes November — and ask if we have dates available. Every year, the answer for most of December is the same: we don't.
This is not unusual. This is not about us being in particularly high demand. This is simply what happens when an entire wedding season concentrates into seven days.
December 2026 has exactly 7 shubh muhurat dates for Hindu weddings as per the Panchang. All of them fall within the first thirteen days of the month. After the 12th of December, there are no auspicious marriage dates for the rest of the year Having said that these may vary as per belief and panchang.
After the 12th — nothing. The rest of December 2026 has no shubh vivah muhurat as per panchang.

Why photographers book out before venues do?
Most couples book their venue first. That is a reasonable instinct — the venue sets everything else. But here is what happens in practice: by the time a couple has booked their venue, confirmed the date, spoken to a caterer and a decorator, and finally turned to photography, it is often three to five months later.
On a regular wedding date, this is usually fine. On one of seven shubh December dates, it is often too late.
Wedding photographers — particularly those who shoot candidly and work in small teams — take a limited number of weddings per year. A studio that books 40 weddings annually will typically have 3-4 photographers and is already committed across most of December's seven dates by August or September.
The couples who get their preferred photographer on a December muhurat are almost always the ones who reached out first — before the venue was confirmed, sometimes before the date was finalised — simply to check availability and hold a conversation.

What to Do If You're Planning a December 2026 Wedding
If your wedding falls on any of the seven dates above, the most useful thing you can do right now is reach out to the photographers on your list — not to book, just to check availability and have a conversation.
Most studios (including us) don't require you to have everything confirmed before an initial conversation. We'd rather talk to you early and tell you honestly whether we're available than have you come back to us in October to find out we aren't.
