Mumbai's Candid Wedding Photographers

Story-led. Unfiltered. Yours.

We're based in Mumbai and we've been shooting weddings here for 6+ years — Maharashtrian ceremonies in Dadar, Gujarati celebrations in Juhu, big fat South Indian weddings in Thane, and intimate Christian ceremonies in Bandra. Every Mumbai wedding has its own rhythm. We show up to feel it, not just photograph it.

Destination Wedding Photographer in Udaipur

There is no city in India quite like Udaipur for a wedding.

The Aravalli hills in the background. The shimmer of Lake Pichola. Palaces that look like they were built to be wedding backdrops. Warm, golden light that lingers longer here than anywhere else in Rajasthan. And a slowness to the air that makes three-day celebrations feel like they were made for this place.

We are Swai Tales — a Mumbai-based candid wedding photography and films studio. We travel to Udaipur regularly and we have had the privilege of documenting weddings at some of the most beautiful venues in the city. If you are planning a destination wedding in Udaipur, here is everything you need to know about working with us.

Why Udaipur destination weddings are different

Udaipur weddings are almost always multi-day affairs. A typical schedule runs across 4-5 events — Mehendi, Sangeet, Haldi, Baraat, and the main Wedding ceremony. Some families add a Tilak or Mayra. Each event has its own emotional peak, its own light, its own energy.

A Sangeet at a rooftop venue with the Lake Palace visible in the distance looks nothing like a Sangeet in a hotel banquet in Mumbai. The scale is different. The atmosphere is different. The light is different.

Shooting destination weddings requires a photographer who can adapt fast — who knows how to work with the afternoon sun in Rajasthan, how to shoot on palace grounds where artificial lighting is restricted, how to move through large families spread across multiple venues on the same day.

We have done this. We know what Udaipur requires.

The recent wedding we covered at Radisson Blu Udaipur — Anish & Abhishika

We had the privilege of covering Anish and Abhishika's Marwadi wedding at the Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort & Spa — a venue that sits on the edge of the Badi Lake with the Aravalli hills as its constant backdrop.

It was a five-event wedding — Mayra, Mehendi, Sangeet, Haldi, and the main Wedding ceremony. Over 400 guests. Three days of celebrations that never felt repetitive because every event had its own character.

The Baraat came in with brass bands and dancing that took over the entire driveway. The vidaai — Abhishika leaving her family — was one of the most emotional moments we have ever photographed. Her father's face. Her mother's hands. Her looking back once.

We were there for all of it.

Why couples from Mumbai choose Swai Tales for Udaipur

We know the light. Udaipur has specific lighting conditions — harsh afternoon sun in summer, beautiful golden hour, and warm ambient light at heritage venues in the evening. We understand how to shoot in all of these conditions without losing the warmth and authenticity in each frame.

We travel as a team. We send a team of 2-3 photographers to destination weddings — never a single photographer. At a 400-guest, five-event wedding, one photographer cannot be everywhere. Our team covers all events simultaneously so nothing is missed.

We do not interfere. Destination weddings have a particular atmosphere — guests have travelled, emotions are heightened, everyone is a little more present. Our job is to document that without altering it. We do not pull people aside for poses when moments are happening around us.

We handle logistics ourselves. Travel, accommodation, venue recces, timeline review — we manage all of it. You brief us once. On the wedding day, you do not manage us. We manage ourselves.

We deliver on time. Sneak peek within 1-2 days of each event. Full gallery within 30 days. Film within 60-90 days. Even for destination weddings where we are travelling back to Mumbai.
